Food & Drink

Nottinghamshire has a fine tradition of food & drink. The famous Bramley cooking apple has its origin in the minster town of Southwell. There are a variety of farmers markets with fresh local produce, award winning farm shops and a host of micro breweries, with one near White Horse Cottage which supplies the local inn in the village: The Red Lion.
There are a vast array of places to choose from when eating out with impressive teashops, gourmet restaurants, tradtional and high quality pub restaurants and a host of coffee shops all serving a variety of locally produced food and drink. If you would like fresh free range eggs during your stay at White Horse Cottage, we can provide you with a henhouse with your own hens producing fresh eggs for you each morning – contact us for further details.
